OKAN UNIVERSITY (ISTANBUL)

Istanbul Okan University started education in the 2003-2004 academic year.
During the 2003-2004 academic year, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Faculty of Engineering and Architecture were opened, and Social Sciences and Science Institutes were established in the same academic year.
Our students have succeeded in entering our programs among the first 1100 candidates, and our university has entered the top 7 among foundation universities.
In the year of its foundation, 23 students, including 4 scholarships and 19 paid students, were assigned to the Department of English Translation and Interpretation of the university, 18 students to the Department of Psychology, including 5 scholarships, 13 paid, 26 students to the Department of Business Administration, 5 scholarships and 21 paid, Tourism and Hotel Management. A total of 87 students entered the School, with 18 students including 5 scholarship students and 13 paid students.
Introducing itself with the slogan "The University Closest to Working Age" since its establishment, Istanbul Okan University has provided internship opportunities to its students in many fields, and has signed cooperation projects with Türk Telekom AŞ and DEİK regarding industry cooperation.
Continuing education center OKSEM became operational in January 2004.
With the Meral Okan Student Dormitory, which was built in addition to 4 dormitories, 2 for girls and 2 for boys, on the Tuzla Campus of Istanbul Okan University, the capacity of the dormitories on our Tuzla Campus reached a total of 1500 students in the 2015-2016 Academic Year. In the dormitories, there are study rooms, dining hall, cafeteria and cleaning service, laundry, security team that ensures the security of the dormitory day and night, an infirmary with permanent doctors, wired and wireless internet system.
Istanbul Okan University opened a conservatory again this year and laid the foundation of Istanbul Okan University Medical Faculty Training and Research Hospital.
