Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University

Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, which takes its name from the third and biggest ruler of the Karamanoğulları Principality, which dominates the provinces of Konya and Karaman provinces, has based its logo on the famous edict prohibiting the speaking of a language other than Turkish, published by Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey in 1277. The firmans symbolize the 16 Turkish states. The edicts united to form a sun that affects all Turkish states, and this sun symbolizes the speaking of Turkish everywhere. The blue color indicates simplicity, dignity, and trust, and the yellow color represents positivism and knowledge.

The history of Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMU) is based on the Vocational School established under the Selcuk University with the decision of the Higher Education Council dated 30.03.1987. Between 1987-2007, Vocational School (Vocational School), Ermenek Vocational School, Kazım Karabekir Vocational School, Vocational School of Health Services, School of Health, School of Physical Education and Sports, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Letters, Kamil Özdağ, depending on Selçuk University. Faculty of Social Sciences and Science Institutes were established.

Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMU) is one of the 17 universities established by Law No. 5662 on May 29, 2007. With this law, the faculties, schools, and institutes that were established under the Selçuk University were connected to the Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University. In the following periods, Faculties of Engineering, Education, and Islamic Sciences were opened. Vocational School was divided into two in 2012 and Vocational Schools of Technical Sciences and Social Sciences were born. Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University continues its education with six faculties, two colleges, five vocational schools, two institutes, and five research centers.

To ensure that scientific activities are increased in terms of quality and quantity by enabling further analysis aimed at projects supported by BAP, TÜBİTAK, SAN-TEZ and other institutions and organizations,

Providing laboratory facilities that significantly meet the advanced devices needed by other universities, public and private institutions during the research and development stages,

It is the task of ensuring the production of joint scientific and technological projects between industry and universities and interdisciplinary.

"Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Scientific and Technological Researches Application and Research Center" aims to be a center that enables the development of research and development activities in basic and interdisciplinary fields with its sustainable infrastructure, contributes to university and industry cooperation and supports the development of the university and our country.
