İstanbul Şehir University

İstanbul Şehir University, founded by the Science and Art Foundation, which has contributed to the education and thought life since 1986 with its long history, started its journey with its original, participatory, universal and libertarian perspective and respected staff, with the goal of being a true “foundation university”. He met with the students in the 2011 academic year.

Our university, which has set out with its libertarian, innovative structure and interdisciplinary education approach by closely following academic developments around the world, is currently continuing its academic activities with its undergraduate, associate, master and doctorate programs under the roof of 7 faculties, 3 institutes, and 1 vocational school.

At İstanbul Şehir University, there is a strong and increasingly rich academic staff of 270 people, 47 of whom are part-time and 223 of which are full time. As of 2016-2017 academic year, ŞEHİR has over 700 international undergraduate students from 74 different countries. ŞEHİR, where the rate of international students has reached 18 percent, aims to increase this rate even higher in the coming years.

With its campuses, guest houses, dining halls, and cafes, gymnasiums, and libraries located in the center of Istanbul, ŞEHİR offers its students a multicultural and lively campus life. In addition, thanks to various research centers and Technology Transfer Office, it allows both students and academicians to continue their work in a comfortable and free environment.

There are nearly 50 student clubs, fitness centers, volleyball, basketball and turf football fields, and social activities for all ŞEHİR members at Istanbul Şehir University, where 2 of the students can be trained with scholarships. In addition, hundreds of thousands of printed, visual, digital resources, and various database subscriptions available in ŞEHİR libraries also enable various projects aiming to contribute to the academic and cultural heritage in the world.
