Iğdır University

The basis of Iğdır University is based on Iğdır Vocational School. Iğdır Vocational School, which was established in 1995 under the affiliation of Kafkas University, started to provide services with its only business administration department, 20 students, 16 lecturers, 1 servant, and 1 civil servant.

Rapidly growing, Iğdır Vocational School became more than 1500 students in a short period of time with 8 formal and 5 secondary education programs, and the attempts to establish faculties that have been continuing since 2001 have resulted in 2006 and our province, which has valuable agricultural fields, has acquired Iğdır Faculty of Agriculture under the Caucasus University.

On 22.05.2008, Iğdır University was formally established with 3 faculties, 2 vocational schools, and 3 institutes in accordance with the Additional 100th Article of the Higher Education Institutions Law. As a result of intensive efforts, Iğdır Faculty of Agriculture took its place in the 2008 ÖSS guideline and started its activities in the 2008-2009 academic year with its 30 students.

Our university, which has completed its establishment phase both physically and academically since 2008, has a total of 278 academic institutions, 199 administrative institutions, 164 alongside 7 faculties, 2 colleges, 4 vocational schools, 3 institutes, 3 coordinatorships, 8 application, and research centers. auxiliary staff and 3366 undergraduate, graduate 2516, 495 master's and 3 sure our region with a total of 6380 students, including graduate students and becoming one of Turkey's prestigious universities and is advancing with steady steps.

One of the youngest universities in our country, Iğdır University continues its rapid development with the projects it has implemented and is ongoing. In this sense, one of the most important projects implemented recently is the Research Laboratory Application and Research Center (ALUM), which was opened in 2016. With its modern and technical devices, the center is a large research laboratory, which is used by researchers in both our University and regional universities.

In addition to providing shelter services to its guests with its 84 rooms, Iğdır University Practice Hotel also provides health services with salt therapy rooms whose walls are completely covered with salt. With this feature, our Application Hotel has a separate place among its similars.

The University Mosque Project for 3000 people within the University of Martyr Bülent Yurtseven Campus; Open Air Sports Facilities Project, which includes athletics, basketball, tennis, and football carpet fields; The Cruise Hill and Recreation Area Project, Animal Hospital Project, Medico-Social Building Project and Landscape Project, which will meet the entertainment and recreation needs of families, local people and our staff and also organize different activities, are planned to be completed and put into service in 2017.
