Galatasaray University (French: Université Galatasaray) is a public university with a medium of education in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, in the Ortaköy district. Together with Galatasaray University, Galatasaray Sports Club, and Galatasaray High School, it is one of the most important institutions of the Galatasaray Group.
As a result of the initiative of graduating from Galatasaray High School, on April 14, 1992, the President of Turkey Turgut Ozal with French President Francois Mitterrand established an international agreement which was signed at a ceremony attended by the higher education institution, 22 May 1992 and 21 235 Official Gazette by the status of institutions published in Galatasaray It was established under the name of Education and Training Institution.
Starting its education life in October 1993, Galatasaray Education and Training Institution, as an integrated education and training institution with a public legal personality and consisting of various levels and departments of primary, high school, and higher education, during the period until the university received its status. Dr. Yıldızhan Yayla, Turkish Vice President Prof. Dr. Barlas Tolan, French Vice President Annie Petit, Director of the School of Engineering and Technology Prof. Dr. Ethem Tolga, Galatasaray High School Director Prof.Dr. Erdoğan Teziç and Secretary General Assoc. It continued its activities within the framework of the decisions taken by the Board of Directors consisting of Yalçın Çakalır in accordance with the international agreement of 1992, the Statute of the Institution and Equal Representative Committee.
In order to contribute to social development, it is to raise qualified individuals who are inquisitive, researcher, and equipped with contemporary values in a well-established educational environment that supports international collaborations and interdisciplinary studies.
