Ege University

Ege University, on May 20, 6595 Law No. 1955, published on March 9, 1956, the first in the Aegean Region, Izmir, Turkey started its life as the 4th university education. Ege University, which is one of the most preferred universities in our country, the first of many signatures have taken on the world and Turkey.

With its roots dating back to the neolithic era, İzmir is one of the rare cities of the world with rich historical beauties and it was named after Smyrna from an Amazon queen. İzmir, which has hosted many civilizations; Ardemisio-Ephesus, one of the seven wonders of the world, contains the Agora from the Romans, the oldest known bridge that took its place in the Guinness Book of Records and many other historical traces.

İzmir, which has gained an important place in the world and Mediterranean trade as a port city since the 16th century, is the city with the most intense industry after Istanbul with its economic vitality. The university was established in Bornova, one of the biggest districts of Izmir. The campus in Bornova consists of 3700 decares and buildings used for education, culture, sports, and social services. The campus is equipped with sufficient parking lots, roads, traffic signs, and direction signs. It is also possible to establish inter-unit, intra-Izmir, national, and international communication through the telephone and computer network at the Ege University campus.

With a modern library on the university campus, equipped with the latest technology, indoor swimming pool, indoor sports hall, sports facilities such as football, basketball, mini-football, tennis courts, exhibition hall, and a capacity of 750 people. Yusuf VARDAR - MÖTBE - Cultural Center, a large part of which has been put into service and a student village where students can meet their housing needs, as well as cafeterias, student bazaar, hypermarket, academic staff and locals and guest houses for students. In addition, there are girls and boys dormitories affiliated with the Credit and Dormitories Institution on campus.

Due to the fact that Ege University is located in Ankara, Istanbul, and İzmir crossroads, it is very easy to reach our campus, which has smooth transportation between the cities, by the metropolitan municipality, which serves on the Üçyol-Bornova line, as well as the regular bus services of the Metropolitan Municipality. Private dormitories will be put into service on campus starting from 2006-2007 academic year for the accommodation of our university students. In addition, on-campus, there are Girls and Boys Dormitories affiliated with the Credit and Hostels Institution.

Besides the various units in Bornova located outside the campus of the University of Ege University and the University, Atatürk Cultural Center in Konak, high schools in Çeşme and Ödemis, vocational schools in Tire, Bergama, Bayındır and Ödemiş, Urla, Menemen. There are practice and training centers in Mordoğan, Çiğli, Özdere, practice hotel in Çeşme, the observatory in Kurudağ. In addition to these facilities, there is a Summer Camp in İzmir Özdere where both students and staff benefit.
