Dumlupınar University or simply DPI is Turkey's state university located in the province of Kutahya.
Dumlupınar University was established with the law dated 3.7.1992 and numbered 3837. The establishment of four faculties and two institutes is also included in the same law. Kütahya Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Kütahya Vocational School, which previously operated under Anadolu University, constituted the core of our university.
Kütahya Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was established under the name of Kütahya School of Management on 12 October 1974 and started education on 4 December 1974 under the Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences. It continued its activities as a college until February 15, 1979 and has been transformed into Kütahya Faculty of Management by the Academy. Later, it was affiliated to Anadolu University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences under the name of Kütahya School of Administrative Sciences with the Decree-Law No. 41 dated July 20, 1982.
Anadolu University has been transformed into the Kütahya Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences with an article added to Law No. 3389 of June 27, 1987. The school has been continuing its educational activities as of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Dumlupınar University since July 3, 1992.
Kütahya Vocational School started education in 1975-1976 academic year under the Ministry of National Education. It was affiliated to Anadolu University in July 1982. Since 03 July 1992, it has been carrying out educational activities under the Dumlupınar University.
In addition to the Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Engineering, Simav Technical Education Faculty and Bilecik Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Institute of Science and Social Sciences, which were envisaged to be established by the Law No 3837, Tavsanli and Gediz Vocational Schools were opened with the decision of Higher Education Council dated 06.09.1993 and 1993 -It became operational in the academic year of 1994. With the decision of the Higher Education Executive Board dated 14.02.1994 and numbered 94.5.332, a total of 14 Vocational Schools were opened in ten districts of Kütahya province and four districts of Bilecik province. In accordance with the protocol number 1996/8655 between the Ministry of Health and YÖK, the School of Health has joined our university.
With the decision published in the official newspaper dated 14.04.1999 and numbered 23666, the Faculty of Education and Fine Arts, within the Faculty of Science and Literature, was established within the body of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. The School of Applied Sciences was opened for education in the 2005-2006 academic year. With the Decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 24.05.2006 / 10493, the Institute of Health Sciences was established.
