Çağ University
Çağ University was established on 9 July 1997 as a public legal entity subject to the provisions of Law No. 4282 and Law No. 2547 regarding Foundation Higher Education Institutions.
In its establishment; Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Vocational School (Vocational School), Preparatory School (English), Institute of Social Sciences and Institute of Science. Subsequently; With the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 06.11.1997 and numbered 97/10212, the Faculty of Law affiliated to the University Rectorate was established.
Çağ University, which stands out with its dynamic structure, modern campus, international teaching staff and quality education offered to its students, and whose language of instruction is English; In the fertile lands of Çukurova, a nature paradise, historical and cultural center, it is the first Foundation University of the Mediterranean Region and its campus area has reached the level of 520,000 m2 with the donated areas after 2005.
The number of students and faculty members of the university has increased every year. The number of students, which was 422 in the 1998-1999 period, increased to around 7000 in the 2021-2022 academic year.
While the number of teaching staff was around 25 when the university first started education, in the 2021-2022 academic year, the number of permanent teaching staff increased to 260, including 230 and 30 teaching staff with additional course hours. The total of Administrative and Security Personnel also increased to 90
In parallel with the increase in the number of students, teaching staff and administrative personnel, the number of buildings and classrooms has also increased. Çağ University, which started its education with the only building still called the Rectorate Building, reached its second building where the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Preparatory School are located at the end of the 1998-99 academic year, and the third building where the Faculties of Law and Economics and Administrative Sciences are located in the 2003-2004 academic year. building was built. Amphitheater plaza was built in 2005-2006 and the capacity of the amphitheater was increased to 1000 people. In the 2007-2008 academic year, computer classrooms and additional offices were built in the modern "Information and Technology Center" of 4,500 m2.
In this center, the Internet Hall became operational, Individual and Group Study Rooms were furnished, and Conference halls were put into service. The construction of the Star Observatory "planetarium", which started on the top floor of the "Information and Technology Center" in 2009, was completed and put into service. In addition to making additional constructions as renovation activities at our University every year, new construction investments are planned for the coming years.
Studies in the academic field also showed a rapid development. Starting from the 2005-2006 academic year, upon the request of the students, the proposal of the University and the approval of the Council of Higher Education, the Vocational School switched from English to Turkish teaching. It is possible for students to attend the English Preparatory School upon request. The courses are given in English at the rate of 30% in the Faculty of Law at our University, and in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (except for Turkish Language and Literature).
