The main purpose of Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, which was established as a foundation university on May 18, 2007, is to bring together branches of science in the field of health sciences. The university was founded by the Acıbadem Health and Education Foundation. Acıbadem University also provides education in non-health areas at its university. Acıbadem university took its first students between 2009 and 2010. In 2013, it moved from the temporary campus of Maltepe to its permanent campus established in Ataşehir. Acıbadem University is a thematic university in the field of health.

Clinical Simulation and Advanced Endoscopic - Robotic Surgery Training Center - CASE within the university is one of the most comprehensive medical training centers in the world with all departments and technological infrastructure. The center holds the "Center of Excellence" Certificate, which is owned by only two medical education centers in the world, issued by the CAE Academy. The center, which is accredited by Network of Accredited Clinical Skills Centers of Europe (NASCE) and Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), provides trainings before and after graduation.
